Welcome to Multicultural Education!

We live in a world and country where we will be teaching children with all kinds of cultures, ethic backgrounds, and family structures.  The purpose of this course is to help you understand the intricate relationship between schools and society so you can develop a contextual understanding of teaching and learning in our changing role and society.  It is designed to prepare you for cooperative and collaborative relationship with school colleagues, parents, and social agencies in the larger community to support students' learning and well-being in a culturally pluralistic society. 

Things to do:

• Look at the pages by clicking on the hyperlinks in the table under "How to Use This Wiki." 
• Using your wiki account information, create a workspace page for your weekly journal. 
• Go to the Discussion Forum and join the forum.  Introduce yourself.  Read and comment on the student postings.  Get to know each other!
• Check the Course Content for course materials
• Check the Calendar for upcoming deadlines
• Check out the Twitter feeds (@tahallam & multicultural education search)  Lots of resources are available through these feeds.
